RE: Snow for Joan & Joe

For those who read this blog, Joan & Joe are blogging buddies from Perth, Australia. They are pretty much the same age as I am have children the same age as mine. On one of my posts about weather I got a comment from Joan advising they have never seen snow. Having lived in Saskatchewan all my life it is hard for me to imagine a life without snow (OK sometimes I get really fed up with the amount of snow)...Joan asked if I could post some pics of snow so I did. I must say the amount of snow this year has not posed any problems mainly because I am in Regina this year. Last year in Saskatoon was brutal and it is even worse there this year. I truly believe I had an angel on my shoulder ....Saskatoon had 552 claims on Monday, January 15/07. In Regina where I work at commercial claims we maybe had 70. Joan & Joe will find it hard to believe but in Saskatoon there are snowbanks 20feet high right now. There...here endeth the 1st reading on snow.

Hi Kathy,
Love the new look to your blog! We have South African friends here who have never seen either. Today in Penang its quite warm - I wore long pants and T-shirt to the airport this morning! Seems so crazy :)
Bye for now,
Shauna

I love snow! We're not getting nearly as much as we usually do here in Michigan. This is a strange year weatherwise.

Hi Kathy

Thank you for your kind words about Tahlia. She is the picture of health now, but she still has to have bi-monthly blood tests until she reaches her teens.

Its been a busy week, well busy but not much to show for it, if you know what I mean. Working around the house and the garden.

This weekend is a long weekend as its Australia Day tomorrow (26th). Perth celebrates by having a huge fireworks display on the Swan River in the centre of the city.
We don't go into town, but we gather as many of the family who can make. Have dinner together, then walk up the hill and watch from a distance and generally have a very good time.

Hope your Dad is doing OK! This is end of the second week isn't? Is he going home for the weekend?

Also you, are you doing OK?

Better go and make byself look presentable I'm gong to have lunch with Amy. We try to have lunch once a week - I do enjoy it, she my Daughter and my friend.

Oh! Almost forgot I'm reading a book Called 'The Master Butchers Singing Club' by Louise Erdrich, its set in North Dakota. Very good so far, have you read it?

Gotta Go - Take Care
