Miscellaneous Update

Well, it is winter time here for sure...it is supposed to drop to about -24 overnite and with the windchill it will be around -40 tomorrow which is Thursday. Kerri and Levi along with Dee Dee and David are travelling to Winnipeg tomorrow for the Provincial WaterPolo Tournament. I hope they have good weather. Today a lot of the highways were closed and no travel. RCMP were stopping people from going on the roads. SGEU is on strike and the highway workers are out so Highway management are maning the ploughs and graders etc. They know when to hit the government hard!!! Dad was up to Regina yesterday for his final bone scan and mapping for radiation. Yesterday they tatoed the area to be radiated and he starts treatment next Tuesday, Jan. 16/07. We are very greatful for that as it is almost 1 year since this process started and his patience is at a deficit level right now. He decided all by himself (after my brief comment about the cancer lodge) to stay at the Cancer Lodge. It is only $40 per day and they will provide a driver to take him across the street for his treatment and back. They will also provide a wheel chair to take him to the treatment in the Allan Blair clinic. So all is well there. We will keep his truck at Wendy's if he drives up but we are hoping that Jim, Twyla, or Kerri may be able to bring him and then Wendy and I will see that he gets home on Fridays. I am back at work....really am having trouble staying awake around 2 PM. I really think they should provide a chesterfield for me to have a brief cat nap on...don't you?? I tried to eat some veggie soup today at noon and have not been feeling well at all since about 2:30...so no more veggie soup for a while. My tummy is really very sensitive...back to mashed potato and jelly, which I might add is getting real boring!!! I am still eating lots of yogurt, oatmeal is fine, so is milk pudding and tapioca pudding but I am really craving a crunchy veggie salad!!! Obviously Dr. Casey knows what he is talking about...he told me 2 or 3 months before I am back to normal...I am a very poor patient!! It is very hectic at work....I haven't installed my web cam or I mean I haven't down loaded Skype yet...maybe this weekend. I have to go now and have a bath and hit my bed....hello to Colleen and Art...Kaleb, Annie and Tim...lots of love to you all.

I've been at home for 2 years. It took me a year to get used to it, but now I just love it.

I worked it out today you are 15 hours behind me in time - so maybe I should be saying 'have a good sleep' instead of 'have a good day'

I hope your Dad's treatment goes well.

Bye for now Joan

Hello Kathy

Time as I write 9.45am 13th Jan.
I'm thinking you are home from work, hope you had a good day.

This day has dawned 'bright' with sunshine and you can feel the heat starting to build. Amy is also reading your posts, she just cannot understand how you live with such cold. You must have wonderful heating systems.

Have you anything planned for the weekend? We are off out to dinner with Joe's sister Luisa and husband Greg tonight. We try and catch up with them every six weeks so, and try different restaurants.

Take care - Talk soon

Hi Kathy
11.40am Sun.14th.
Joe and I are locked down in the house 40C outside. Well not exactly locked down - but you only go outside if you have to - and I don't.

Hope you had a good Saturday.
We are expecting Grandsons Marc and Luc any tick of the clock, we are boysitting this afternoon. Mum and Dad (Doug and Emma) are off Paintballing whatever that might be. Then they will come back here for dinner, also Amy and Simon. Pasta for dinner Yummy!

They have just arrived - peace is shattered.

Talk soon - Have a good Sunday.

Monday 15th 5.15pm

How are You?

I'm recovering today from looking after Marc and Luc yesterday - they just don't stop.

I'm also taking a break from trying! to learn about the Stockmarket. Joe and I run our own Super.Fund and we've decided to start investing (wish we hadn't) I've got as far as opening the Trading Acct. Passwords/IDs and such. Now we(I)have to try and understand all of it. We have a date with our Accountant next week that should help. Might let him do it.

You mentioned in one of your posts, you have to download 'Skype'
to talk to your Daughter. I downloaded today, not to hard to understand for us mature ladies. My email is joejoan@gmail.com if want to find me.

Hope all is well with you?
Stay warm and safe Joan
