My Australian Friend
Just as I was posting Patrick's Birthday ...Skype came on and my friend Joan from Australia was calling me...I was so excited....I had to get my camera hooked up and my headphones on. We had a great chat...and I am thrilled with my new friend half a world away. Technology is amazing...My mother would have loved this...her sister Mary lived most of her life in India...Granny and Mum were always sending parcels and writing blueforms (a letter that went via air) How wonderful it would have been for them ..if they could have communicated like this.

Picture this, 2 mature ladies half a world from each other, trying to make things work to talk to each other. Aren't computers wonderful!!
If only I had this when I came to Australia 32 years to talk to my parents. It would have cut out waiting for the mailman. There was the phone of course, but it cost 2 dollars a minute, not very affordable then.
Talk to you on Wed. I hope my mic.works, didn't get a camera, I ran out of time. Maybe better for you though don't want to frighten off. Ha! Ha!
