Firsts!!

My friend Bruce very generously offered to help me this weekend at my cottage...again!! He has been to the lake several times and never stops working! Earlier in the summer we pulled all the carpet and underlay out of the bedrooms.....and I discovered I could see right outside in one of the bedrooms. No big deal right!! I just blocked it up and thought I will get some Stop Gap and close up the hole!! Bruce came and took a look and advised me not to do that. He looked around outside and discovered that 2 or 3 of my supports under the cottage were completely missing. Then one night I decided to have my first sleepover in my new cottage. I was only in bed a few minutes when a mouse jumped off my bed. That was the end of my sleep over....back up to the old cottage.....so the other day Bruce e-mailed to see if I had the problem looked after and of course....No...not yet!! I asked him if he was offering and he said "Sure No Problem". We went shopping for all the things I would need to get my support structure under the cottage back to normal and off we went to the lake. So as you can see ....we got the cottage shored up. And just in time....it turned very cool and started to pour....
Above is Bruce making the first fire in my wood burning stove....we were toasty warm in no time. And stayed warm for a long time!!!

I cooked the first meal in this cottage on September long 2008. I broiled chicken breasts for Bruce, veggie burgers for me...stir fry veggies, and rice angel hair noodles...... The counter is quite a mess but I did get it cleaned right up before we came home today it was completely clear. You can tell I am not quite organized because there is a mattress beside the fridge!!! It is starting to feel like mine.....

I found 2 teleposts in the cottage...here is the first one installed.

This was a learning experience for me....jacking up and jacking up and jacking up...one more board...one more board...one more board. Thank goodness...Bruce knew what to do...cause I sure didn't!! I know quite a bit more now!!

Can you see the Mares tail blowing across the prairie sky???
