Fall is here

Well, today at least it feels like fall. It rained and is only about 30 degrees F. We spent the long weekend at the lake and it was fabulous. The weather was grand!! I can't wait until I can live there permanently. It was a fun weekend. Jane, Leo, and brand new baby Connor came for the day. Oh, he is such a sweet little guy....and I mean little. He is so tiny! We walked and ate and walked and ate!! I wanted to get my new blinds up but I couldn't stay inside when it was so lovely outside!!

We had a sad day yesterday...a good friend "Terry Grohn" was killed tragically in a motorcycle accident on Aug. 30. He was a wonderful man...lived just by Kerri & Darren. Our famlies have known each other all our lives. Our Church was packed to over flowing and so was our hall. They had 2 large TV screens set up in the hall for those who couldn't get into the church. I got home at 12:10 and by 12:50 Dad was hustling me out the door. He was afraid we wouldn't get to sit in the church. Well we did but in the 3rd row in the balcony!! They think about 1000 people attended. This fellow's sister was a very good friend of mine in high school and we haven't seen each other for 25 years...just keep missing each other. She was here so we had a great visit. Sadness and joy mixed together!! Terry was on his way home from Calgary on his motorcycle at about 7PM...when a lady pulled onto the #1 highway to go west into Strathmore. She just didn't see him because of the sun....so it is very sad for her as well. She was not travelling fast but he was doing highway speed....no chance at all...pray that God will gently hold these families and grant them peace and comfort as they recover from shock and grief.

I am going to a new Bible Study with my friend Jan, and another friend Marie. We are going to the Baptist church...so it should be an interesting mix...Presbyterian, Baptist and Catholic...it should make for some delightful debating!! I am also going to take a Yoga class...I think Kerri is as well.

Dad has been busy...we went to the farm last week several times to pick corn, cucumbers and tomatos. It was rather cool over night so Dad went out this am and brought all the green tomatos home. Now I have to deal with them!!

I'm confused about your temperature. You said 30 F. That's below freezing...is that what you meant?
