The Pumpkin Patch

Here we are in Boulder, Colorado...it was a beautiful, pretty day....clear blue sky, warm...the Rocky Mountain Foothills in view (we are looking at them in the picture). This display was in the parking lot at Whole Foods. Whole Foods is a fabulous store and we shoppped!! This was the start of our day...in fact, we had a lovely organic lunch there. Our trip was lovely....our motel room great...with all kinds of wonderful things to eat for breakfast. Erin made sure we were up and at it every morning...not a moment to spare in the shopping department. I will say that every woman should shop Macy's and Sak's Fifth Avenue...just once and just for fun!!! We left Boulder at about 2:30 or 3 in the afternoon...degrees about 75 - 78 or so....one hour later in Cheyenne, Wyoming it was 40 degrees, raining and a terrrible wind storm blowing us about. One later in Douglas, Wyoming it was snowing. At that point we decided to stick with the interstate...quite a bit out of our way.... but best for travelling. It snowed all the way to Sheridan...and too boot we were dodging wildlife of every description!!! Wyoming is very pretty but rugged ...at nite, however, in a storm it is no fun at all!! We decided we would stop and stay over at some small town and we drove about 12 miles off the interstate ....only to find NO hotel/motel...NO gas station ....only 1 bar and the only person in the bar was the waitress!!! The washrooms were very clean!!! So we continued on and eventually after hours and hours drove out of the storm. We took a short cut across the Crow Indian Reservation and were sorry, once again, that it was dark....there is so much history there and we drove by several huge monuments to Crazy Horse and Custer and all Indian Nations. It would have been interesting to view in daylight hours.
