Peter's Birthday

On Friday nite, Feb. 16/07 we went out for supper to celebrate Peter's birthday which is February 17th. Fifteen of us enjoyed a lovely meal at the Willows on Wascana. Peter's good buddy Buddy Bill Shupe came about 11 - just arrived from Calgary. Bill has always wanted to be a McFadden so Judy made him a scrap book complete with a very legal looking document stating that after duly examaning all the petitions the court adopted the motion that forever after William Bradley Shupe should be known as William Bradley McFadden Shupe...signed this Sixteenth day of February in the year of our Lord 2007. Bill was thrilled. It is a really cute scrap book. It was a fun evening...only minus 8 or so and the snow was wafting down...very pretty. I did take some photos so will post those later. We have a provincial holiday "Family Day" tomorrow...Feb. 19th...I am happy to have an extra day off...I have been going through boxes - downsizing. From the looks of it I will have a huge garage sale in the spring.

Kathy: Owch-My eyes, my eyes, that green writing is hard to read. I finally got a couple of pictures from my new camera on my Blog, Its not "real easy" as I can't get them to download to that Picasa site as the camera has its own storage site and you can't upload to the blog from it. Bye...R

Hi Kathy
I just tried to ring, you were set to 'away' but I tried anyway.
Yes I'm enjoying the book, not quite so far in as you. All this time travel tangles the brain a little don't you think.
Like you I've been off blogging this week, mainly gardening, planted a garden bed I'm very proud of it. All I have to do now is keep the chickens from eating it, but I've solved that problem by locking them up for a few days. That not so bad as it sounds, they have a wonderful 'run' to live in and I do feed them.
The weather is slowly moving into the 'Fall' 16C - 30C beautiful days.
Enjoy your time with your grandchildren and take care on the road. Hope your family stay safe in their travels.

Byeeee for now the Happy Gardener Joan xxx

Just got back from lunch with my friend Shirley, we meet up in Rockingham about 45 minutes south from me and north from Shirley's house. Shirley lives in Mandurah ( pronounced 'Manjura') we've been friends for about 32 years, we met when our sons were in Year One together, my doesn't time fly?

Hello its me again,

Yes I've been busy as well, couldn't explain exactly what I've been doing but the days seem to fly by, its hard to believe Easter is just around the corner.

As you can see on the blog, we all had a wonderful BBQ in Kings Park for Joe's birthday. Why is it my Grandsons always want to make funny faces for photos? I have asked them not to, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Boys will be Boys.

Hey! Kathy I've found a new book, almost finished it. 'The Doomsday Book' by Connie Willis, great read, time travel. set in the near future and way in the pass. It was published in 1992, so you may have look in S/H Bookshop or the Library. I found it on http://www.librarything.com/
If you haven't read it I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Hope so.

OK Better go and feed my Girls (chickens)and Ham (dog)and Joe(husband).

Take Care - yes we MUST talk SOON.

Luv Joan bookworm downunder ((*_*))
