Autumn Day
Yesterday, Kerri, Dad and I went to the lake. We had some furniture to take down there and we still had some closing up things to do. It was a lovely fall day, although the air did have a chill on it. I always love the lake at this time of year. The lake is wonderful during the summer as everyone is there and most people we haven't seen since last summer. But autumn has it own special attributes at the lake. It is quiet, the blue herons are there and the colors are fantastic. We have a friend who lives at the lake year round in a lovely home built on hill over looking the lake and he takes care of our cottage while we are gone. Terry called me on Friday to say it was very cold at Whitebear and he had drained out water system put antifreeze in all our drains and generally made the place ready for winter. Kerri and I always think Terry probably looks on us as the Clampets, our place is kind of hilly billyish!! It is really hill billyish right now as we moved more furniture in without taking any out. We decided to wait until spring as the old furniture is still good and someone may want it. We made a list of things to do next spring ...before we actually settle in for summer...cleaned out the fridge and freezer, and then headed back. We stopped in Carlyle, tried to shop but didn't see anything we couldn't live without so headed back to Weyburn. It was a great day...Blue sky and sunshine all the way....today is cloudy and windy again. I was hoping that someone would knock on my door and offer to bag leaves for me....no such luck ...so I am off to do some outside clean up.

Autumn is my favorite season. We've been to Sask. in the fall and have watched the flocks of birds migrating south. What a sight that was!
